Sports Premium
Since the London Olympics in 2012, the government has provided primary schools with extra funding to improve the provision of PE and sport in primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on improving the provision of PE and uptake of sports, particularly to enhance the following:
- improve the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
- raise the profile of PE and sport across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
- increase confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
- broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
- increase participation in competitive sport
